Hundreds of motorists lined up Friday at a North Carolina gas station that unknowingly sold gasoline for 35 cents a gallon. An attendant of the Kangaroo Express station in Wilmington accidentally set the pump price of premium gasoline to 35 cents instead of $3. 35 a gallon. The mistake was discovered at 6 p. m. , when a long queue of cars caused a traffic jam in the area.

A dog rescued a baby joey found in the pouch of the dead mother kangaroo, and brought it back to be cared for, according to the dog's owner. The dog, a short-haired pointer cross named Rex, was out with owner Leonie Allan, when he suddenly began to get agitated.

A 6-foot-tall pet kangaroo that ran away from its owner's house in rural central Indiana on Friday and remained at large for two days died Monday just few hours after it was captured. The cause of death is still under investigation but the marsupial's owner alleges it died of an overdose of the tranquilizer. The animal control officers captured Skippy the Kangaroo early Monday morning, not far from its owner's home, after setting it unconscious with a tranquilizer.

Police in Altamonte Springs, Florida are investigation an unusual robbery where the suspect allowed the clerk to call 911 and apologized after the woman said she might be having a heart attack. However, the robber, who also carried a handgun while looting the Kangaroo Express store on State Road 436, also took $30 and a few cigarettes.

There's a Koala baby boom on one Australian island and scientists are hoping to slow that down. Scientists are hoping a new contraceptive dart will slow down the population explosion of koalas on Kangaroo Island. The island's eucalyptus trees are dwindling and the island's 28,000 koalas are eating themselves out of a habitat. The animals eat nearly a pound of leaves every day. So far, the contraceptive darts have proved 100 percent successful.
