Sex workers in Vegas are advocating respect for their profession in Sin City. Prostitutes demonstrated on the steps of the courthouse in downtown Las Vegas. Hookers and strippers demanded more legal protection in an effort to decriminalize the "world's oldest profession. " Thirty-six-year-old ex-Army Reservist, Starchild, stood in solidarity with the rallying sex workers in Las Vegas. He emphatically claimed his seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

A 116-year-old woman was declared the oldest person in the world Friday, according to Guinness World Records. Maria Esther Capovilla, an Ecuadorian woman, was confirmed as the record holder after her family provided details of her birth and marriage certificates, said the record keeping organization.

Pete Doherty, boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss, who recently has made headlines after she was photographed snorting cocaine, has been arrested in Shrewsbury, England for drug possession. The Babyshambles lead singer was in town for a concert. A spokesman for West Mercia Police says: "In the early hours of this morning officers stopped a mini bus in Shrewsbury town center and detained a number of people for the purposes of a drugs search.
