A 71-year-old lawyer, who was literally thrown in his car's trunk by a man who stole his wallet and car keys, had a miraculous escape when the man forgot to take away his cell phone from him.
While Ira B. Sully was locked inside his own car's trunk, he called 911 and said, "I've been kidnapped, robbed, and I'm in the trunk of my car." He also added that the man who had done it all was still driving.
Police tracked both the robber Martino Williamson and the car he was driving within ten minutes. The incident took place on Saturday when a bandana-covered Williamson took Sully's wallet and keys and had him lie on the ground. He demanded Sully's bank-card PIN, who in turn gave him the correct number.
According to The Columbus Dispatch, Sully was not hurt in the accident and the money which the robber took away from the ATM was also recovered. The 20-year-old robber was charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
