Probably as long as there have been children and elders, there have been different ideas about fashion. Kids want the freedom to express themselves and have peer approval. Parents want their children to present themselves as respectable, whatever that may mean to the parent. In one Chicago suburb, though, the town government has gotten involved.

A 4-year-old boy died Saturday after being left in a vehicle for nearly three hours while his mother was getting her nails done for her wedding later that day. Reports say that the mother, Mirlande Jean-Baptiste's, 29, likely did not know the child was in her Ford Explorer, as she and her sister dropped off some children with relatives before going to their 9 a. m. appointments.

A 60-year-old man is pleading for help from doctors because he says he thinks he's turning into a woman. Terry Wright, father of five, claims he started losing his hair and beard 10 years ago, and over time his skin has softened, his breasts have grown and he continues to experience hot flashes.

A Texas bank robber's efforts were thwarted Friday when bank customers wrestled him to the ground. Larry Don Enos, 57, reportedly entered a Fort Worth bank wearing a wig, fake mustache and beard.

Education Minister Kathleen Wynne had sent an investigator to review the books of the Toronto Catholic School Board over its inability to manage its expenses. The probe comes in the aftermath of a report that the board's trustees spent excessively, particularly on benefit packages that cost taxpayers on the average $107,218 per trustee. Heading the investigation team will be Pierre Filitrault, a former senior business official of the same board. Wynne gave Filitrault one week to go over the books and management practices of the school board.
