A canine biscuit company's offer to give Kenya powdered dog food in order to feed famished children was dismissed as "culturally insulting. ""Kenyan kids are not so desperate as to eat dog food," Kenya government spokesman Alfred Mutua told Reuters.

A 38-year old Australian man had to be rescued after becoming stuck inside a washing machine while playing with his kids. The Daily Telegraph reports Robin Toom had to be pulled from the machine by local fire officers after becoming trapped during a game of hide-and-seek.

A group working to keep Britain clean wants soccer players to stop spitting. The charity "Keep Britain Tidy," in a letter to the head of the players' union, says players spitting on the field sets a bad example for children.

A couple accused of abusing their 11 adopted special-needs kids by making them sleep in cages took time to defend their actions but say they're willing to give up the cages in order to get their children back. Michael and Sharen Gravelle say they will be more lenient and send the once home-schooled children to public school. The kids now have a string of health and behavioral problems.
