The chief of staff of former President Bill Clinton when he was governor of Arkansas was charged on Wednesday with smuggling tattoo needles into the death row unit of the state prison. Betsey Wright, a death penalty opponent, reportedly plans to surrender to authorities next week.

According to a police report posted online by the Arkansas Times, Wright tried to bring in contraband into the maximum security unit during a May 22 visit. The items were an ink pen with tweezers and a needle, a knife, a boxcutter and 48 tattoo needles hidden in a Nachos Cheese Doritos bag. She is charged with a total of 51 felonies.

Two Liquid Protein Supplements Recalled After Knife Blades Found Inside

Two protein products are being recalled after knife blades were discovered in containers of each supplement.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recalls on Sunday after a knife blade was found in a vial of "Hardcore Energize Bullet." Another blade was found in a vial of "New Whey" liquid products.

A South Dakota motel clerk turned away a would-be robber who demanded money, armed only with a butter knife.

The front desk clerk at the Howard Johnson Express told police a man pointed a butter knife at her and asked for money about 6 p.m. Sunday. After she refused, the dejected robber left the hotel, the Rapid City Journal reported.

A newly-invented knife that will be difficult to use in stabbing and keep kitchen users safe from accidental injury will be out in the U.K. market this year.

The knife, invented by industrial designer John Cornock, has a round instead of pointed tip that will snag on clothing and skin making it quite ineffective as a weapon.
