A Michigan man attempting to shoplift from a local store stuffed a number of hunting knives down his pants, tripped while trying to flee the store, and stabbed himself. The 26-year old suspect, who was said to have attempted to steal $300 worth of knives from the Knapp's Corner Meijer store, sustained puncture wounds to his abdomen, said officials. Recounting the incident, police said that the man got into a scuffle with the security guards, resulting in him falling on the knives.

A 48-year-old robber, who refused to take $10 bill from his victim because he only wanted $4, was caught Tuesday. Police said that after he took the $4 from his victim, the suspect hurriedly left, only to be captured a few blocks from the place of the incident.

A 28-year-old knife-wielding man held his job recruiter hostage his job recruiter in Quezon City, Philippines Monday after the recruiter refused to return the man's 87 cent registration fee. Gilmer Sacote of Quezon City, Philippines, accused his recruiter, the Triple 1 Manpower Agency of cheating him. Sacote held Ergie Arcala at knifepoint for four hours, after the latter refused to return the $0. 87 he paid the recruitment company as registration fee. It was found that the firm was the fifth recruitment agency Sacote had sought employment in six months.

Police are searching for a couple who threatened a 19-year-old woman Sunday evening and cut off her waist-length hair with a pair of scissors. The man and the woman couple attacked Simone Regina Penteado and told her if she did not stand still they would kill her with the knife. They took off with about 36 inches of the girl's hair.
