A human rights group is alleging the United States uses music by Eminem and Dr. Dre to torture detainees in a secret Afghanistan prison. New York-based Human Rights Watch quotes an Ethiopian-born detainee as saying he was kept in a pitch-black prison and forced to listen to Eminem and Dr. Dre's rap music for 20 days before the music was replaced by "horrible ghost laughter and Halloween sounds. "

A hoaxer has been found guilty of wasting police time after claiming he lost a daughter in the Asian tsunami, according to BBC news. Philip Bosson, 39, told officers his former wife called him to say their daughter Kayleigh had been killed.

On behalf of an unmarried, pregnant teacher, the New York Civil Liberties Union has filed a federal discrimination complaint against a Catholic school. The NYCLU contends the school unlawfully fired the teacher because of her pregnancy situation. "I don't understand how a religion that prides itself on forgiving and on valuing life could terminate me because I'm pregnant and choosing to have this baby," Michelle McCusker said Monday at a news conference announcing the suit.

A 73-year-old woman is released Friday after being jailed for more than two weeks on charges of looting. Police arrested Marlene Maten the day after Hurricane Katrina for allegedly taking $63. 50 in goods from a looted deli. Her bail had been set at $50,000.
