A park in Manchester has opened up a playground designed strictly for pensioners. At a cost of $30,000, he Dam Head Residents' Association (DHRA) put up the Older People's Play Area in Blackley, equipped with facilities designed to strengthen hips, tone legs and train the upper body.

A prosthetic leg used by war hero Douglas Bader is being sold at an auction along with 42 pieces of his memorabilia. Phillip Knapper, from the auction house, said they expect the mementos belonging to the late war hero who became famous for continuing to fly for the RAF despite losing both legs in a plane crash to fetch over $200,000.

A man from China got the shock of his life upon discovering a chicken he placed in the freezer for two days came out alive and crowing. According to Gan Shugen, of Chengdu City, he got the hen which was wrapped in a thick plastic bag with its legs bound as a gift from a relative.

A 265-pound man claims that a restaurant he frequents because of its "eat-all-you-can" buffet promo, has banned him from eating again in the eatery because "he and his companion eats too much. " But a spokesman for the restaurant denies the claim. Ricky Labit, a disabled offshore worker, said he had been visiting the Manchuria Restaurant in Houma and eating there at least three times a week. He claims he had been a regular customer of Manchuria for eight months.

Buckshot, Katie and Obu-Jet used to be stray dogs but with an $800,000 inheritance from their deceased owner, they can now live the high life. The Maryland dogs inherited $400,000 and a house in Hagerstown with roughly the same value when master Ken Kemper died of cancer last year.
