Portsmouth Mourns Unfortunate Death Of 9-Year-Old Holiday Float Participant

The close-knit Greenland community in Portsmouth, New Hampshire was devastated as news spread of the unfortunate death of 9-year-old cub scout, Thomas Fogarty, who was participating in the holiday parade on Saturday night. Fogarty was one of approximately 20 cub scouts who was riding on the flatbed trailer with the float being pulled by a truck in the holiday parade celebration. Somehow the child was struck by the float and Fogarty later died at the hospital.

Dutch Carpenter's Erotic Furniture On Display In Germany

Dutch cabinet maker Mario Phippona's latest design of erotic furniture are on display at a top German art gallery, Amadeus Art in Berlin. The designs offer a wide range of wooden cupboards, wardrobes and tables inspired by the female anatomy. One of the items on display is a fruit bowl called "TittyFuity," which is decorated with realistically shaped, life-size wooden breasts.

Fairground Ride Traps 18 People Upside Down

Nearly 18 people, between the ages of 18 and 27, were trapped upside down for over an hour while on a fairground ride. After the ordeal was over and they were rescued, riders were left feeling dizzy and bruised. One of the victims, a 27-year-old man, suffered from shock and suspected hypothermia. He was rushed to the hospital. According to officials the mishap was a result of small technical failure on the attraction at Strathclyde, Scotland.

Dog Cuts Off Power In The English County of Durham

A dog which accidentally tripped a live power cable, caused some 148 homes in Middlestone Moor, County Durham in England to lose electricity for five hours. It was said that when Bailey, a Straffordshire bull terrier, urinated against a faulty pylon, "There was an almighty explosion and the whole street lit up. I turned round and the dog was on fire," reported his owner, Gary Davies.

Japan's Kobayashi Sets Yet Another Record In Speed Eating

Japanese Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi has set a new world record in speed eating. At the Boston lobster roll eating challenge, Kobayashi was able to devour 41 rolls in 10 minutes, smashing the previous record of 22 rolls.
