A cloned pig bioengineered by Chinese scientists to glow fluorescent green when exposed to ultraviolet light has produced two piglets that also glow in the same way. Liu Zhonghua, a professor overseeing the breeding program of cloned and genetically-altered pigs at Northeast Agricultural University in China's Heilongjiang Province, reported the birth of the special piglets in the school's website on Tuesday. The breeding program is aimed at developing technology to produce pigs whose organs will be transplanted to humans.

A town council in Manchester, England has come up with a novel idea to help mourners freezing in keep warm by using the heat generated from cremating their loved ones. Tameside Council said they will try the idea at the will be tried at the Dukinfield Crematorium, which is notorious for freezing temperatures even during services.

After being berated by her parents who find her 'language' too difficult to understand, a schoolgirl has come up with a guide to teenage slang so her parents could understand her better. After writing "The A-Z of Teen Talk," 13-year old Lucy van Amerongen, from Box in Gloucestershire, is now "stoked" (very happy) because sales of her "nang" (cool) book are "owdish" (excellent).

Using improvised props and set design, a group of friends has transformed their garage into a film studio to recreate two Star Wars films. The group used household objects as scenery, toys as props and PC wizardry to recreate the special effects to produce spoof of two Star Wars movies, calling them The Empire Strikes Backyard and Star Wars - The Emperor's New Clones.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill on Wednesday merging two separate state departments into a new agency to combat high-tech identity theft. The California Office of Information Security and Privacy Protection was created to assist consumers, law enforcement, businesses and advocacy groups in compliance with consumer privacy laws. It combines the Office of Privacy Protection in the Department of Consumer Affairs with the state Information Security Office.
