A farmer in Lincoln County, Wisconsin was surprised to discover that his new calf, Lucy has two noses. Mark Krombholz said he didn't notice any abnormality in Lucy until he took her to the barn to feed milk. "I went to feed her a bottle of milk, and I thought maybe she'd been kicked in the nose and there were two noses there."

According to AP reports the second, smaller nose is located on top of the first and Kromnholz say it was a functional one because the flap in the middle of the second does goes in and out while feeding her.

Krombholz is now planning to make Lucy, who was born May 4, as a pet if she survives.

According to Lucy's breeder Scott Grund, the noses seem to be working fine and solve the purpose of breathing. He said that this is a rare deformity, usually not the result of genetics.

Grund is also planning to send this information to the company in Shawano for records. "If by chance this would occur more than a few times, they would start looking at maybe the sire that we're using," he added.
