A flood of water would have been bad enough, but the green-brown liquid that gushed through the streets of one German village was "the mother-of-all muck."
A tank containing 52,800 gallons of liquid pig manure burst open, flooding the Bavarian village of Elsa, German police said Wednesday.
Sewage rose to 19.69 inches and caused more than $119,000 worth of damage, reports Reuters.
"The village was swamped with green-brown liquid and it was pig manure -- the mother-of-all muck," said Rainer Prediger, a police spokesman in the nearby town of Coburg.
