A visitor taking a stroll at a British museum tripped on his shoelace, tumbled down a stairway and fell onto a display shattering several centuries old Chinese vases. The three Qing dynasty vases, that date from the late 17th or early 18th century, were on loan from the Fitzwilliam Museum in the university city of Cambridge in 1948 and were placed beside the staircase for 40 years.
