A mother left her 7-year-old son sleeping in a sports utility vehicle for about an hour late Monday night while runnin-up a $14 tab, drinking at a local bar. According to police reports, Kathryn Stough, 33, of Plantation, Florida, cracked the window of her SUV three inches, leaving her son, unharmed and sleeping, in the backseat on an 85-degree, humid night. The doorman at the bar noticed Stough making frequent runs to her car between drinks and called police after he approached the SUV and saw the child.

A Louisiana woman has sued the Applebee's Restaurant chain, claiming she was traumatized after finding the tip of a human finger in a salad she had ordered. The lawsuit, filed in District Court June 24, claims May Deal Chambers suffered vomiting, stomach aches, headaches and chest pains after finding the extra ingredient in her salad.

In late May, Jason Martin stumbled across a misplaced cell phone at the back of the restaurant he worked at. Upon scanning the phone book, he was surprised to see a list of names including, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, George Clooney, Harrison Ford, and Bill Gates. Martin was a bus boy at Brisa Atlantica, a Cuban jazz club/restaurant in Delray Beach. That night, singer Jimmy Buffett had visited the restaurant and lost his cell phone on the way out of the restaurant's back door.

An elderly Australian couple take police on a 1,400 mile chase in protest after the wife was denied an extension of her driving license because of old age. Tom and Marian Foulkes, both in their 80s, drove from their Melbourne home in the southern state of Victoria to the north of New South Wales state and halfway back again, avoiding police searching for them.
