Millionaire Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, (R-Wis. ), is probably the luckiest man in the House after winning a third time in the state lottery. Already a millionaire and heir to the Kimberly-Clark fortune, Sensenbrenner won a $250,000 jackpot on a $2 ticket in the District of Columbia lottery in 1997.

A slot machine installed at a video lottery terminal at Twin River casino in Rhode Island was a dream come true for gamblers. It gave out twice the amount of money as they had inserted. The malfunctioning machine, supplied by the company Gtech, paid out a whooping $450,115 during two months since its installation in May. A faulty feature allowed patrons to get credit for double the amount of money they put in, with a maximum of a $100 credit for a $50 bill.

One government official is fighting to cancel a reality television show featuring a terminally ill patient charged with picking the most deserving contestant to receive her kidney. The "Big Donor Show," is planned to air this Friday. One member of Dutch parliament is protesting the show. But advocates for the show say that it is meant to draw attention to the shortage of donated organs and the long lines for them.

A couple who decided to pick up the roadside trash because they grew tired of seeing it lying there for long time, found a winning scratch-off lottery ticket. The Clinton County couple, Ronnie and Tina Abbott, found the lottery ticket worth only $15 on Sunday while picking up garbage near Frankfort, about 55 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

An Iowa man was on cloud nine when he discovered that he's the "idiot" who hasn't claimed an $800,000 Powerball lottery prize. According to Iowa Lottery staffers, Ed O'Neill of Clinton had purchased the ticket for a Jan. 6 Powerball drawing but didn't think it necessary to check the results until a co-worker pointed out an article in the local newspaper which mentioned of a person who had failed to claim a hefty Powerball lottery prize. O'Neill, 58, who works for the Clinton Chamber of Commerce, said he was talking to a receptionist at the Chamber who cursorily showed him an article saying, "'Read this article about the idiot that hasn't claimed his ticket. '"
