One of the oldest couples to ever win a Canadian lottery say their only plans for the $7.5 million jackpot is to buy a new pair of nylons for her and a Lincoln car for him.
Thelma and Victor Hayes, both 89, have been married for 63 years and had played the same numbers for years. This time, they decided to go for a quick pick of random figures for the August 6 draw, Canadian media reported on Tuesday.
The pair has two daughters and say they were unlikely to become giddy high spenders. They plan on staying in their retirement home.
"No plans, except I'm getting a new pair of nylons," Thelma Hayes says. Her husband was a little more bold: "I'd like a Lincoln, if I can find one that's suitable."
