At a "Ladies' Night" at the Manchester Monarchs' hockey game, a local jeweler gave away a $2,500 diamond, only to have the winner lose it, then find it again.

Jeweler David Bellman gave 1,000 women in attendance; one contained the half-carat diamond, while the others held fake diamonds (cubic zirconia).

As it turns out, Lauri Proulx was lucky enough to get the winning envelope, but figured "there was no way it was real."

The diamond was tossed in the trash, until her son, upon hearing the real diamond was still missing, found it for another look.

As for what to do with it, Proulx says, "I just want to look at it for a while."
