The Malaysian Forestry Department reports that they have failed to sell a single "Bigfoot" permit, despite reported sightings of the mythical beast in local forests.
Che Hashim Hassan, the department's director in the southern state of Johor, says so far no one has bought any of the 500 permits the office has printed.
The furor started in November, when a farmer says he saw the "missing-link" in the Endau Rompin park in Johor.
Che Hashim says, "We thought that with all the interest in Bigfoot, we would have a lot of inquiries from the public... However, this is not the case."
