When Michael Moylan of St. Lucie County, Florida, awoke Monday night with a severe headache, he thought perhaps his wife had elbowed him in his sleep. Worse, he thought, he could be suffering from an aneurysm.
He asked his wife to drive him to the emergency room, where the nurse informed him that, in fact, there was a bullet lodged in his head.
"No way," he reportedly responded.
Mrs. Moylan returned home, ostensibly to search for clues as to the source of the bullet.
Police later obtained a search warrant for the couple's home in an upscale gated community, where they found a revolver, bloody rags, and Mrs. Moylan, who denied knowing anything about the incident.
She later told police that she accidentally shot her husband and was subsequently arrested.
April Moylan has an extensive criminal record that includes thirteen arrests from 1987 to 2005, including the selling of cocaine and car theft.
Michael Moylan was moved to a West Palm Beach trauma center, where the 45-year-old man is reportedly in stable condition.
