A 63-year-old Pierce County man, charged with having sex with a goat, now says he was trying to milk the animal.
Arthur Lawton missed a scheduled arraignment on August 3rd but turned himself to Pierce County sheriff's deputies on Thursday night.
Lawton is now scheduled to be arraigned on Friday with one count of first-degree animal cruelty. According to court papers, a witness saw Lawton having sex with a goat May 8 in a barn at Eatonville's Pioneer Farm Museum where he worked.
According to AP reports, Lawton is not the only person to be charged with the crime in Pierce County. The first person Pierce County prosecutors charged with the crime was acquitted by a jury in May, who was accused of having sex with the family pit bull.
The Legislature made bestiality, which refers to human to animal sex a felony last year in response to a case where a man died after having sex with a horse near Enumclaw.
