The "senior citizen bandit" has pleaded guilty to at least 10 counts of armed robbery. He also pleaded guilty to one firearms count after robbing banks in three Western states,.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney, Ivy Wang Charles Manrow, a 70-year-old robber from Pennsylvania, will be sentenced early next year after entering a plea on August 10. Manrow is linked to robberies in Southern California, Fresno, Utah and Arizona.
When he was arrested in January, he was in possession of cash and fake identification documents. He was also riding in a stolen Cadillac stuffed with weapons.
Authorities said he dressed in a baseball cap and casual clothes when he invaded banks. He told tellers he would know if a silent arm was activated and then gave them bags to stuff with cash after brandishing firearms.
Last year, Manrow drew national interest after a Los Angeles TV station said investigators were wondering if Manrow could be the Boston crime lord James "Whitey" Bulger.
