A man from Thief River Falls, Minnesota calls himself lucky to be alive after he had a tete-a-tete with a gray wolf. Mike Olson was working under his dad's deck for about 20 minutes when he saw the huge wolf with big eyes looking at him on Monday.
Without wasting any time he just came out told his dad Erling about what he saw. "It was probably 6 feet away," he told AP. "It was just laying down. It had its head up and was just looking at me."
The father and son immediately called up the police who confirmed it was a ""arge, wolf-like dog beneath the deck."
However, police and the city's animal control officer could not catch the animal alive as he was growling and appeared to have mange, a parasitic infestation of the skin.
Police then removed a section of the deck to shoot the 104-pound male wolf. While bears occasionally wander into city limits, it's the first time the police officials have seen a wolf in town.
