fter chugging a liter of vodka instead of handing the liquor over to airport security, a 64-year-old man was hospitalized and treated for life-threatening alcohol poisoning.

The man, whose name was not released, was at the Nuremberg airport in Germany when security officials told him he would have to either throw out the bottle of vodka or pay to have his carry-on bag checked as cargo.

Instead of complying with either of these two options, the man, who was on his way home to Dresden after vacationing in Egypt, proceeded to chug the contents of the bottle, causing the man to almost immediately lose all motor functions. He was quickly taken to a local clinic and treated for what was described as life-threatening alcohol poisoning.

According to the report, the man is expected to make a full recovery and return home in a few days.
