A corpse reported to the authorities Tuesday in Bad Segeberg, Germany was later found out as a drunken man in a Halloween costume, police said.

The man fell into a drunken sleep while on a train ride home from a party in Hamburg. His zombie-like costume was mistaken by fellow passengers for a corpse.

A call for the police was made after failing to get a response from the man, but a first aid team determined that the man wasn't dead but sleeping. The police told the 24-year-old man to remove his make-up and later on, was allowed to continue his train ride home.

"Bad Segeberg is in a rural area and Halloween isn't very well known there," police spokeswoman Sikle Tobies said.

"So people weren't expecting anyone to be dressed up in the train."
