Although it couldn't fly, people can still admire a London man's handiwork on a life-sized wooden replica of a toy plane.

Mark Clews, 24, spent six months building his rendition of the balsa wood planes he threw around as a kid. He expected his plane to be able to take off but even after that failed the plane will still end up in the Learn To Fly expo next month in London.

Clews used a higher-grade wood to build a 15-foot long plane with a 20 foot wingspan. He used a large rubber band wound many times around the propeller to launch the plane.

This only moved the plane several feet and one time the plane actually went backwards.
