A 26-year-old man recently painted a Huntington bridge pink when he noticed it needed some painting job. But Jason Sansom did not obtain permission before doing the job.
All he did was buy paint worth $50, and then began painting the bridge pink without any approval. He chose the pink color in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Jim McClelland, executive director of the Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District, stopped Sansom after his superintendent of buildings and grounds called to inform him about the 26-year-old's deed.
Despite painting without a permit, Sansom was later asked to complete the job. He was also recalled to paint the bridge white when the weather was brighter.
