A German man who unsuccessfully tried to kill himself by jumping in front of a train must pay for the damage he caused.

The decision was announced by a Munich court yesterday. The Scotsman newspaper says that the 47-year-old leapt too late to land under the train and crashed through the driver's cabin window.
