A man who called the police to report the theft of his gambling earnings was arrested for illegal betting.

Ricky Lee Jones, 53, was shooting dice with 23-year-old Beauhanan D. Walker December 27, when Walker got up, grabbed the pot money, and took off.

A furious Jones called the police, the AP reported, saying that he wanted his "portions of the winnings."

Authorities arrested Jones at about 6:37 p.m. Friday, at a traffic stop. He was then released form the Johnson County Jail on a written promise to appear in court when required.

The Gazette added that Walker was arrested at 3 a.m. the next day. Police revealed that it took two officers a total of two hours investigating the case.
