When luck is on your side, no one can harm you - not even if you are buried alive. Luck favored a Florida dog who was buried alive but was rescued a few days later and is still surviving.

Robbie Wilson of Pensacola, Florida, got the shock of his life when he heard muffled whimpers and saw a dog's nose poking out of his neighbor's yard on Sunday. He and his fiance called animal control officers who dug out an alive dog from the yard after thirty minutes.

After being rescued from the earth, it walked around but then collapsed and was taken to hospital. It is being treated in the hospital for severe dehydration but doctors say it has full chances of recovery.

According to AP reports, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office reported that the situation is being treated as an animal cruelty case and an investigation is ongoing. The authorities have not revealed any information regarding the dog and his owner or where it was found.

Bruce Rova, director of the Escambia County Animal Regulation and Control, said, "It's pretty severe. I'd compare it to the worse case I've ever seen."

"It looks like it's going to make it. That is what I am so happy about," he added.
