Police report that a man shot his friend twice in the abdomen over a heated debate on James Brown's real height.
Dan Gulley Jr., 70 was charged with assault for shooting James Brooks Jr., 62.
Authorities narrate that the two had been at a friend's home on Monday when, witnesses recount, an argument regarding the height of the deceased "Godfather of Soul" grew.
Officers told the Press-Register newspaper that Gulley then went on to shoot Brooks twice in the abdomen afterwards Brooks went to his car to get a gun and attempted to shoot Gulley but missed.
Brooks' condition could not be verified.
Officers claim that alcohol was not a factor for the incident.
The singing icon, James Brown, 73, had passed away due to heart failure on Christmas morning in an Atlanta hospital.
