A man was arrested after robbing a car wash and taking more than 70 lbs of quarters, totaling $1,400.
Scott Schmitz, 40, allegedly broken into the Buggy Bath Car Wash in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on the night of November 2, stealing 5,619 quarters, and $1,000 in bills from cash machines found at the car wash.
Police revealed that Schmitz, a former employee of the car wash, was reportedly angry with the owner of the establishment, Eric Morse, and had mentioned plans of "getting back at him."
Morse added that the cash machines were robbed at the perfect moment, as they were just restocked.
Upon obtaining a search warrant, police went to Schmitz's house and vehicle, where they found two containers filled with quarters, totaling more than $100. They also found a few clear plastic bags, twist ties, and a broken lock, according to the FLD Reporter.
