A Slovenian man has completed a 3,272-mile swim down the Amazon River. It took nine weeks of vertigo, nausea, high blood pressure and piranha, but it may have set a world record.
Martin Strel, 52, set out on Feb 1 and averaged about 50 miles a day.
The swim could set a world record for distance. But that wouldn't be new to Strel. He's done that three times before.
Strel said the finish was the toughest part of the swim. He lost 26 pounds during the swim and battled bull sharks, cramps, diarrhea and larvae infections. He also received severe sunburns on his face and lips.
