Paul Daniels threw a $1.5 million-winning lottery ticket in the trash after checking the numbers and realizing he had lost.
His error was, he had checked numbers for the wrong day.
Realizing his error, Daniels immediately scoured through his kitchen trash can and pulled out the winning ticket.
His wife, Carol, says they could not believe they had won, so they called both a local supermarket and the Kentucky Lottery to double check.
Deciding to accept the cash option, the couple took home yesterday a check for $1.5 million.
