Police has caught a 34-year-old man from West Virginia after he tried to attempt a robbery by covering his face with a pair of blue-colored ladies underwear. Steven Clay Stephenson also tried using his pistol-shaped cigarette lighter in an attempt to rob a convenience store on Wednesday.
When the cashier refused to give the man any money, Stephenson ran to a Jeep Cherokee and drove away at about 4 a.m. Wednesday but was stopped by police after a few minutes.
AP reports that police found a pistol-shaped lighter while searching Stephenson and the underwear was also recovered nearby. Police charged Stephenson with nighttime burglary, attempted robbery, first-offense driving under the influence, petit larceny and improper registration.
Currently being held Thursday at the Eastern Regional Jail, Stephenson in custody on a $31,500 bail.
