A would-be bank robber didn't get far after trying to rob a Little Rock bank on Wednesday. He was immediately grabbed by an off-duty officer present on the scene.

Police say Langston Robins went into the Metropolitan Bank branch in the afternoon, asking to use the bathroom. He first walked right past the uniformed officer Chad Herndon three times but failed to notice him.

The 21-year-old faces multiple charges for allegedly handing a bank clerk a note and a gym bag and then running as the officer attempted to arrest him. Robins fled from the bank before being taken into custody by the officer about two blocks away.

Another police officer is surprised how Robins failed to see a uniformed police officer standing right in front of him. "My guess is he's just not the brightest of people," the officer told the Associated Press.

Robins was charged with aggravated robbery, second-degree battery, resisting arrest and fleeing. Robins, who was taken to the Pulaski County jail, had a court appearance Thursday.
