Police have accused a 24-year-old man of going into a boys' bathroom at an elementary school and offering the the students money to urinate in a cup for him. Officers say the school became aware of the incident after one of the students told his mother how he got the $10 bill in his pocket.
Police say the man, Jose Berrios, was on parole and was trying to get a urine sample for a drug test he was supposed to take on Tuesday.
The previous Thursday Berrios had allegedly gone to the school with his sister, who was dropping off cupcakes and balloons for a birthday party for her child.
He allegedly walked into the boys' bathroom and told several of the students he would give them a $10 bill if they'd pee in a plastic cup. Police said at least one of the boys took Berrios up on his officer. Another boy said he did not give Berrios a sample but was paid anyway.
Police obtained a warrant charging Berrios with six counts of risk of injury to a minor and one count of unlawful restraint, but they had not been able to locate him as of Tuesday afternoon.
