A 47-years-old Indonesian migrant worker was sentenced by Malaysian court to six months imprisonment for nearly severing her husband's penis because of excessive jealousy Wednesday, police said.
The deputy chief of Johor state's criminal investigations department Che Yussof Che Ngah said Umidah Setu, an Indonesian migrant worker based in Malaysia, pleaded guilty Tuesday in the southern city of Johor Bahru to voluntarily causing harm.
Yussof said, Umidah, a canteen operator, was arrested Sunday after her unidentified Indonesian husband, filed a report to police claiming she tried to cut off his penis with a kitchen knife.
Che Yussof added, the husband received 11 stitches after undergoing from a hospital. The man took his motorcycle to drive himself for treatment.
The misunderstanding started when Umidah got jealous because she claimed her husband is a womanizer, but declined to elaborate on whether the husband was having an affair, Yussof said.
