While searching for drugs, one Boston detective found himself wrestling a bag filled with marijuana sacks from a pitbull. According to AP, the dog was running around carrying a tan-colored bag as police were searching the apartment, where they had already found a loaded gun, $1,000 cash and 14 bags of marijuana.

A Chantilly High School teacher accused of giving pot to a student was arrested Monday. Thomas Newlun, 53, faces charges including distribution of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police say the teacher gave a small amount of marijuana to a 17-year-old student after Friday's class. The boy handed the drugs over to a school security officer.

An unusual drug bust in California. Federal drug enforcement agents in Northern California shut down an elaborate "marijuana candy" factory that produced drug-laced snacks called Rasta Reece's, Pot Tarts, and other parodies of popular products. Authorities raided five locations Thursday, arresting 12 people for allegedly running the criminal enterprise.

A federal court rules Friday that a student's free speech rights were violated after he was suspended for holding a banner reading "Bong Hits 4 Jesus," across from the school. Juneau-Douglas High School in Alaska disciplined Joseph Frederick for unfurling the banner, which refers to marijuana, in Jan. 2002.

A German man tried to get a dealer to refund $475 in what he claimed was "bad marijuana. When that didn't work, he asked the police for help. Police in the town of Darmstadt charged the 52-year-old man with violating drug possession laws.
