Stuffed Monkey Leads To Discovery Of $130,000 Prescription Drugs

An Arkansas State Police trooper got suspicious when he spotted a truck with much of its windshield obstructed by a large, stuffed monkey. The trooper was prompted to search the vehicle after he could smell marijuana. Police said the trooper found more than 2,100 hydrocodone pills, 70 Xanax pills and 85 Soma pills worth over $130,000 in the truck. According to police reports, the 2003 Chevrolet pickup was pulled over near the 247 eastbound mile marker just before 12:30.

Electrical Fire Leads To Discovery Of Marijuana-Growing Operation

Firefighters responding to a call for electrical fire in the garage of a Roseville neighborhood on Thursday discovered what might be a part of an extensive marijuana growing operation. The Roseville Fire department was reported of the small fire coming from the electrical panel on the side of the house by neighbors who thought the house was unoccupied. According to police, fire crews presented the need to go inside the house as part of routine check for such fires, and as they entered the house they found sophisticated marijuana growing system, including lighting, irrigation lines, timers and a bypassed electrical system which apparently caught fire.

Woman Rides A Horse At Midnight, Gets Charged With DUI

Police on Sand Mountain, Nevada arrested a woman who went for a horseback ride through town at midnight and allegedly used the horse to ram a police car. Melissa Byrum York was charged with driving under the influence and drug offenses. The 40-year-old woman, who said she had crystal methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, pills and a small pipe, trotted the horse on DeKalb County road 1-94 in the town of Sylvania around midnight on Sunday.

Dutch Court Gives Drug Runner A Tax Break

A local Dutch court has ruled that a professional fisherman guilty of drug smuggling was qualified for a tax relief worth $2 million. The cost of the hashish and shipping could be taken out of the fisherman's original tax bill of $4. 4 million. "We disagree with the local court, so we will go to the Supreme Court to appeal," said Tax Service spokesman Marcel Homan.
