A lesbian couple will make gay history by becoming the first legal Indian same-sex marriage accepted by the Coquille Tribe. The soon-to-be wed couple, Kitzen Doyle and Jeni Branting, had been in a committed lesbian relationship since high school.

A study by the Kaiser Family Foundation released Tuesday said 7 percent of adults in the U. S. tie the knot to have access to insurance. Experts were not surprised by the finding as the Kaiser report showed the number of uninsured in the U. S. , currently 47 million, are even increasing in number. Over 8 of 10 uninsured come from families with incomes below 200 percent of the 2006 federal poverty level of $41,000 for a family of four.

Aug. 8, 2008, will not only mark the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics here but also the wedding day of about 9,000 Chinese couples. The number is a new record because it is twice more than the previous single-day marriage record in Beijing, according to China's state-run news agency Xinhua.

A British woman is facing a possible six years in prison after being arrested for having sex on a public beach. The Sun reported that Michelle Palmer, 30, and a man only known as Vince, were caught on the beach by a police officer having sex after the pair had spent most of the day drinking at an all-you-can eat and drink brunch that are popular amongst the British in Dubai.

A Pakistani man from Jonesboro, Georgia has been charged with murder for strangling his daughter to death to protect his family's honor. Chaudhry Rashid, 56, is suspected of killing Sandeela Kanwal, 25, on Sunday because the daughter wanted to end her marriage to a Pakistani in Chicago, the suspect's African-American wife, Gina, told police.
