Joey Buttafuoco, who in the early 90's made headlines for sleeping with then 17-year-old Amy Fisher and sparking a national interest in the 'Long Island Lolita' case, is now working as an ice-cream man on the set of the hit show "Desperate Housewives" and "Crossing Jordan. "During the Long Island drama, which kept water coolers in offices across the nation buzzing with gossip, his then girlfriend Fisher shot his wife Mary Jo in the face, leaving her severely injured and partially paralyzed - an incident that provided the inspiration for no fewer than three made-for-TV movies.

A Long Island man won the grilled cheese-eating championship at the Arkansas State Fair on Saturday, stuffing down 19 sandwiches in the 10-minute race. The prize for Ed "Cookie" Jarvis, of Nesconset, N. Y. , was $1,000. He will join other first-place winner in competing for the world championship title at a time and place yet to be announced. Second place went to Patrick Philbin of Moonachie, N. J. , who devoured 17 and a half sandwiches.
