The World Malayali (Keralite) Council plans to organize a mass wedding of 25 couples on the occasion of its Fifth global Convention. The wedding will be held at the Ernakulam Town Hall on August 2.

Brides and grooms have been selected from across the districts with the help of women's Family Welfare organization units. The group also features physically challenged persons.

The Council will provide wedding dresses and jewelry for all the couples.

The global convention will be held from August 1 - August 6. Minister of Electricity - A.K. Balan, K.V. Thomas - Member of Legislative Assembly, Mayor Mercy Williams and District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish are to be the chief guests on the occasion.
