One Cent Turns Off Power

Jacqueline Williams, 41, witnessed a seven hour blackout last Wednesday because she didn't pay her bill to the last cent. The 41-year-old received an electricity bill for $1,662. 08. She paid the bill leaving out the last cent which was enough for the company to cut her power supply. Last month, Williams was at the state Department of Human Services to seek assistance. The agency promised to pay most of the bill. At the time the bill was due, she was still in need of $500. She went to the Salvation Army for further assistance. The Social security recipient was offered another $430. 67.

Nudist Suffers From Burns After Setting Spider On Fire

A nudist suffered burns to one-fifth of his body after he tried to set a spider on fire while naked in a resort near the Australian city of Bowral, near Sydney. An ambulance service spokesperson said, the 56-year-old victim tried to kill what he thought was a deadly funnel web spider by pouring gasoline down the spider's burrow and lighting it with a match.

Billy The Kid's DNA Found?

Two investigators are saying they have obtained DNA from a cowboy who claimed to be Billy the Kid. Before his death in the 1930's, John Miller purportedly told friends and a son he was the legendary outlaw. Former Lincoln County Sheriff Tom Sullivan and Captain Mayor Steve Sederwall say they obtained the DNA last May from Miller's remains, which are buried in Prescott, Arizona.

Prime Minister Blair Swaps Politics For Sports

British Prime Minister Tony Blair took a little time off from his job of running the country to join soccer pundits on a live television sports show. The Prime Minister confessed on the BBC TV's Football Focus program that is has been years since he's attended a live show, but still likes to watch a match on television when he has time to relax.
