A Brazilian artist is now facing hot water after toymaker Mattel threatened to sue her for organizing a photo exhibit depicting Barbie as a lesbian.

Mattel has given Karin Schwarz 24 hours to close down her exhibit at city of Curitaba, Brazil or face court action.

But the artist told the Jornal de Sao Paulo she will proceed with her exhibit entitled, "Amazing Girls," the exhibition is currently being showcased at a bar in the city.

She said, "Barbie is exploited by Mattel. She wears a bikini, she shows off her belly, has big breasts, and even has a boyfriend."

A spokesperson for the toy company said,"Barbie is a very proper lady and she is not happy about being portrayed as something that she isn't. We are going to sue and we hope that this teaches people a lesson. Also, Barbie is 46 years old, she should be respected!"
