McDonald's golden arches are getting a makeover. The worldwide hamburger chain is going to distinguish its kosher restaurants with the blue and white colors of Israel's flag in 14 restaurants. The move is aimed at preventing religious Jews from accidentally eating a cheeseburger.
According to the Guardian Online, the change is expected to be made at ten other branches Jewish religious authorities have given kosher certificates to...because they do not include dairy products on their menus.
Religious law prohibits the mixing of meat and dairy products during meals.
McDonald's non-kosher restaurants, which will keep its golden arches without the change, serve Israeli customers who do not keep strictly kosher and want to visit McDonald's on Saturdays and religious holidays.
