The German village of Geschendorf in Schleswig-Holstein has prevailed in their bid to block a McDonald's branch from opening on its outskirts on the grounds that it does not serve sausages and sauerkraut. The village mayor, Fritz Kock, 66, said: "There are 508 people here and we all agree we do not want foreign trends here. "

A McDonald's drive-thru worker got an unusual tip this Tuesday. Seeing a car pulling up at the drive-thru window, the worker went to open it. But instead of a bill the people in the car threw a dead cat through the window and drove off. According to Cedar Rapids Animal Control officer Matt McAtee, the black thick-furred feline appeared to have been dead for a while.

"Would you like fries with that?" is not a question usually associated with fashion, but it was on Wednesday in New York when singer Kelis modeled a dress for fast food chain McDonalds made out of their Arch Card. The Grammy nominated singer, whose breakthrough single was an appropriately titled hit "Milkshake", was appearing at the "Load It, Gift It, Love It" fashion experience hosted by the restaurant.

Police have finally caught a "serial litterer" after working with the McDonald's restaurant chain to nab the criminal. Mildred A. VanLanen was ordered to serve 200 hours of community service by Eastern District Court Judge Ron Rice as a result of her offenses.

A 27-year-old man got the surprise of his life when he found some $18,752 (15,000 euros) inside a burger meal he ordered from a McDonald's restaurant in Waterloo, Belgium. Marco Parra-Martinez ordered a take-out burger from a McDrive restaurant.
