Canadian police and health officials searched on Tuesday for a thief who made off with vials of HIV-contaminated blood plasma from a Vancouver hospital. The thief pried open a locked freezer at a laboratory at St. Paul's Hospital during the weekend and removed the 19 vials that were marked with the lettering "HIV VL" and labeled with the patients' names, Reuters reported.

Police have identified a San Diego man killed Friday after he stood up in a moving convertible on Interstate 15. According to the county Medical Examiner's Office the body has been identified as 32-year-old Steven Andrew Turner. According to police reports, Turner, a passenger, stuck his upper body out of the open T-top roof to take off his shirt while the car was driving northbound at 65 to 70 mph.

A man wrecks his car after the pet snake he had tied around his neck attacked him. Witness say Courtland Page Johnson, 30, of East Naples, was driving erratically Tuesday at 9 p. m. when he crashed his PT Cruiser into some barricades. He then got out of his car, wrestled with the snake and drove off.

For no apparent reason, other than for 'vengeance and for fun', a Croatian woman allegedly called a local emergency line over a thousand times. The unidentified woman, 34, was arrested after calling the medical emergency number in Sibenik, on the central Adriatic coast, more than 200 times in three days.
