A judge convicts a former rescue squad worker of involuntary manslaughter for turning the defibrillator paddles on a co-worker as part of a prank, which turned deadly. Joshua Philip Martin, 25, faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in March. Circuit Court Judge Michael Lee Moore said Monday he will likely order prison time.

The Broward Sheriff's Office says a passenger aboard a delayed Continental Airlines flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Newark became agitated, opened the door and jumped onto the tarmac. Troy Anthony Rigby, 28, ran toward the front of Flight 408 as it taxied to the runway at about 5:15 p. m. He banged on the cockpit door, the front door and the door in the food galley.

A Thai prostitute was spared a caning penalty after doctors told authorities that "he" had actually become a "she". Mongkon Pusuwan, accused of dealing drugs, was previously identified in a passport as a male. However, a doctor confirmed for the Thai court that Pusuwan had undergone a sex change operation and was officially a female.
