Two men have been charged for torturing a man they thought had been a police informant. Compounding the crime, it turns out the man they tortured was the wrong person.

Mitchell Buie and Eduardo Lebron kept Charles Windham in their Daytona Beach home for more than 24 hours while they sliced him with a kitchen cleaver. The men also held a shotgun to his head and told him they would kill him.

Windham passed out from the pain. When he regained consciousness he escaped the home. But he would not give police information about them men.

Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood said, "They cut him up and they sliced him up pretty good. They held a shotgun to him and told him they were going to kill him."

"It is a problem for law enforcement and it is a problem for prosecutors. You would hope when people come forward that they would testify under their own volition and not have to worry about retaliation."

Both men were charged with aggravated battery and false imprisonment. Police still do not know what they were trying to keep from them.
